Althorp House and Garden-Just Outside Northampton

The famous Althorp House and Garden are located just 6 miles from the centre of Northampton and only an hour’s drive from Ivinghoe. The house dates from the eighteenth century and the garden was laid out in Victorian times. This is the former home of the late Princess Diana and her burial place is on the island located on the Round Oval lake.

The gardens include sweeping lawns, rare tree species and a balustraded formal garden. It is a stately building in impressive grounds and well worth a visit. The experience is made all the more poignant for its close connection to one of Britain’s best loved figures of recent years.
